This small hotel was in an excellent location, just steps from lively 5th Avenue and a 5-minute walk to the beach. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel itself had a relaxed, hacienda-style vibe—bohemian and cozy. It’s not luxurious, but it has a charming, down-to-earth feel that I really enjoyed. Noise from nearby restaurants might bother some guests, but it didn’t affect me. The beds were comfortable, and the cleaning was done daily. The rooftop terrace, while a nice touch, is quite small, with just a couple of sun loungers. That said, the overall atmosphere and proximity to the beach more than made up for it. I also want to highlight the attentive and kind staff at the restaurants downstairs. They truly went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Overall, it’s a lovely, casual place with its own unique charm—perfect for a relaxing getaway, especially if you value a great location and friendly service! I would go back in a heartbeat.

The service was nothing short of brilliant! Friendly staff (thank you Sofia and Marisol from reception). We had a slight issue with hot water in our shower in room 201( yes, it was necessary as our first 2 night was unfortunately cold at night in Feb). We reported it and they couldn’t fixed it and we were immediately offered to move to another room 305 with was smaller but sunnier and much better shower. The Housekeeping was wonderful too. The rooms were clean and lovely. Fantastic location. The only thing to keep in mind is that there’s a bar with a live band that plays til late every night(good singing though) but if you like some peace to watch TV and sleep before 2:30 or 3am, you may wanna consider it for 1/2 nights! Also noises from street performers, passers-by vendors or cars could be an issue as it’s one of the liveliest street in town. Otherwise, perfect central location on the 5th Av. near to the player Mamita next to many 4/5 stars hotels. Oh also, there is a rooftop little pool with jacuzzi and its perfect for quiet sunbathing too if you don’t like sand. All in all , It’s lovely place to stay and offers great value for what we paid for.

The hospitality was amazing! The staff were amazing and always greeted us and asked if we needed anything during our stay. The room was very clean and the location is excellent since it's in the 5th Ave. You can find anything you need close by and if you have any questions, the staff is very approachable. Definitely would recommend it.

Went to a party here. That was cool bit I would not have liked to stay here for just that reason. Loud people and non guests hanging out on all the floors of the hotel. Good for partiers. It's very pretty with cascading waterfall from roof to ground floor. Nice ambiance

Firstly, only good things to say about banana boutique. I’m so glad that I gave this small hotel a chance. The rustic design was beautiful, the foliage was to die for. Air conditioner worked great and it was right on Quinta avenido so it was perfect for us, but it was surprisingly not loud inside. I read some other reviews that said it was kind of hard to find so taking that into account I knew what to look for. It is a white building attached to a restaurant with a small entrance. The staff was super nice. There is a second floor terrace overlooking the avenida great for people watching and relaxing. The only negative I would say is that I would have liked a refrigerator in the room and plugs for your electronics are kind of scarce, but besides all of that this place is a win! Will be coming back!

location is amazing! laid back atmosphere. could use a plug in the room, and rooms are small and a little noise from the street but we really enjoyed it (and the late check out)

Thank you Hotel Banana for your fantastic service! The cleaning service was great and front desk was always friendly and helpful. There is a water fountain to fill your bottle, there is air conditioning and there are no mini fridges. We did not use the pool but it is small and on the roof top, there is also a microwave up there. My best friend and I wanted to come to Playa Del Carmen to spend time at the beach and to go out dancing, and for that, this location simply could not be beat. Mamitas is a couple blocks away where vendors may serve you alcohol on the beach. Or if youre up for a walk, go to the left down Quinta til you get to Playa 88 for a quieter (than mamitas) beach. Ah Cacao Cafe is a block to the right where we loved getting breakfast every day. La tiera is the restaurant below your room with live music and djs well into the night/morning with great food! onyx club is around the corner with super fun reggaeton nights and bar loco is about 3 blocks to the right for a loco time! We spent 2 weeks just taking in all that Quinta had to offer! Wonderful experience, thank you again, Banana Boutique!

Great place. 3rd year coming here. It is Noisy. Band's play every night. Going to sleep with the patio door open and listening to live music Is nice. They have a great balcony to play games and people watch. No refrigerators in any room.
